HELP!
I have a bit of a dilemma.
I don’t read Vampire books.
In fact, the only ones I’ve read are all the books by Cassandra Clare and even they are not centralized on vampires, themselves. I haven’t read Twilight and I don’t plan to. Don’t yell at me when I say this but I think it’s stupid and Bella would be the type of heroine who I would be mentally stabbing.
Yet, this is a series so many people have been recommending. But I don’t want to read it because it’s entertaining or enjoyable, I want to to read it if it’s genuinely good. I don’t like filling my head with junk.
So, should I read Vampire Academy? Is it genuinely fantastic enough for me to invest my feelings into it?
I need your advice.
What do you think?
So far I’ve read the first three books of the Vampire Academy series and I don’t really know how to sum up my feelings…I felt like it wasn’t as good as I expected because of all the raving I had heard but it wasn’t too bad really. I gave the books about 4 stars ๐ But if you’re not into vampires, I don’t think you should bother reading it…

Infinityreads just told me how good it is. But I think I’ll give a try and if I don’t like it then down the drain it goes

๐ Good plan! Personally, I usually just DNF unless its an ARC…although even then, I might not end up reviewing it.

Yes Faith you should! Okay I have read this series and the spin off and I can reassure you this is not a stereotypical Vampire book. It’s badass, mysterious, emotionally investing and yes Fangirl worthy! I hope I’ve convinced you but you read what you read ๐

You should at least give book one a try! I fell in love with this series from book one and just marathoned everything. ^_^ There’s lot’s of awesome action scenes, steamy & swoon-worthy romances plus amazing friendship, and even a bit of non-boring politics here and there. Also, most of the characters are hilarious!

Well, I haven’t read it myself, but I will say this: I have been “anti” so, so many genres, only to find out that with the right book, I actually enjoy it! For example, I thought faerie stuff was dumb, but then I read The Darkest Part of the Forest, and I really loved it. So I’d say give the first one a try at least, and then even if you don’t like it, hey, at least you’d know for sure!

I love books that surprise you. They always end up being the best ones.

Okay, I am going to admit that I love Twilight. It was one of the first grown up book I read as a preteen and well, I think there are different kinds of people. And some DO rely on other people. It seems that strong female characters are trending because of the whole feminism movement, but there are some girls who are more dependent, and that is okay as well ๐
Anyway, enough of that xD Read it, at least to try! I want to read it at some point too.

Twilight is one of those books that people tell me they hate or love. But I think Vampire Academy should be alright. Fingers crossed that they surprise me
