Fangirl Weekly

How is everyone going?

These past two weeks have been packed for me. Exams ended and I just came back from camp and I am seriously exhausted. Now I can get back to my reading because we all know that’s what we live for.

O.M.G, I have also been super jealous of anyone heading to BEA 2016. TAKE ME PLEASE! It is my ultimate bookish dream to go because ALL THE BOOKS AND ALL THE AUTHORS WILL COMPLETE MY LIFE. Is anyone else as desperate as I?!

I’m going to be heading to TeenCon next weekend!!! YAAAS, I’m so excited. I hope I’ll be seeing heaps of people. As well as that, I am psyched for the Tommy Wallach event at SWF. This year’s program is absolutely so much better than last year’s. Plus, FREE BOOKS AT TEENCON IS HAVING ME LIKE

  • When We Collided by Emery Lord
An entertaining read about mental illness, first love and the importance of family. This book will have you hooked straight from the beginning, all the way to the end.
  • Let’s Talk || How I Write a Book Review
I discussed the jumbled mess of my brain while writing reviews. It’s a disorganised process that has me mostly ranting in a non-spoilery fashion. How do you write book reviews?
I just told you guys why I would be MIA for about a week. Blame exams.
  • The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski
    coral4 - CROPPED
EEEK, the last book of this intense trilogy was recently released!! I definitely enjoyed it better than the previous two books. No more annoying romantic misunderstandings and more of the complicated war politics.
  • Photo Diary || Pretty Books & Pretty Streets
I posted my recent shots from my last city outing and a pretty cool shot of the Winner’s Curse trilogy in all its completion.
  • A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

  • Empire of Storms COVER REVEAL

I have no issues with the covers. It matches my edition and in all honestly I don’t really care about the cover, I CARE ABOUT THE BOOK ITSELF AND FREAKING HELL, I WANT IT NOOOOOWWW!!!

What do y’all think of it?!
Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

On a planet where violence and vengeance rule, in a galaxy where some are favored by fate, everyone develops a current gift, a unique power meant to shape the future. While most benefit from their currentgifts, Akos and Cyra do not — their gifts make them vulnerable to others’ control. Can they reclaim their gifts, their fates, and their lives, and reset the balance of power in this world?

Cyra is the sister of the brutal tyrant who rules the Shotet people. Cyra’s currentgift gives her pain and power — something her brother exploits, using her to torture his enemies. But Cyra is much more than just a blade in her brother’s hand: she is resilient, quick on her feet, and smarter than he knows.

Akos is from the peace-loving nation of Thuve, and his loyalty to his family is limitless. Though protected by his unusual currentgift, once Akos and his brother are captured by enemy Shotet soldiers, Akos is desperate to get his brother out alive — no matter what the cost. When Akos is thrust into Cyra’s world, the enmity between their countries and families seems insurmountable. They must decide to help each other to survive — or to destroy one another.

OMG, THIS COVER IS FREAKING GORGEOUS. It’s to be released early next year and maaaaan, I want it nooooowww.

– Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven

Everyone thinks they know Libby Strout, the girl once dubbed “America’s Fattest Teen.” But no one’s taken the time to look past her weight to get to know who she really is. Following her mom’s death, she’s been picking up the pieces in the privacy of her home, dealing with her heartbroken father and her own grief. Now, Libby’s ready: for high school, for new friends, for love, and for EVERY POSSIBILITY LIFE HAS TO OFFER. In that moment, I know the part I want to play here at MVB High. I want to be the girl who can do anything.

Everyone thinks they know Jack Masselin, too. Yes, he’s got swagger, but he’s also mastered the impossible art of giving people what they want, of fitting in. What no one knows is that Jack has a newly acquired secret: he can’t recognize faces. Even his own brothers are strangers to him. He’s the guy who can re-engineer and rebuild anything in new and bad-ass ways, but he can’t understand what’s going on with the inner workings of his brain. So he tells himself to play it cool: Be charming. Be hilarious. Don’t get too close to anyone.

Until he meets Libby. When the two get tangled up in a cruel high school game—which lands them in group counseling and community service—Libby and Jack are both pissed, and then surprised. Because the more time they spend together, the less alone they feel. . . . Because sometimes when you meet someone, it changes the world, theirs and yours.

Jennifer Niven delivers another poignant, exhilarating love story about finding that person who sees you for who you are—and seeing them right back.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS ONE!!! It sounds so interesting and a contemporary read I would totally be into. The release date for this one is set for October which is definitely closer than next year but NOT CLOSE ENOUGH.

  • Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken COVER REVEAL.

Ehhh, the cover for this one is alright. I loved Passenger so I’m super psyched for this one!! The time travel and romance was A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

At the moment, I just want to time travel to the future and get ALL THESE BOOKS.

I’m just getting into the book. I have to say, it’s already better than the first book and I’m excited to see more paranormal creepiness come into play. Side note, the description of how ghosts look are creeping me out yet it’s also pretty awesome at the same time.
