‘Bout this Blogger Tag and GIVEAWAY

So Cait Grace has moved to WordPress hence PARTY TIME!!! She’s no longer the “Notebook Sisters”, she is now the converted “Paper Fury”. Her new home is here.

This is just a tag with 10 questions about this blog and how it got started. Cait is also hosting a giveaway for a YA book of your Choice worth up to $11 from Book Depository. This link to that is above where her new home is.

Question Time!

Why did you start blogging?

One of the occupation hazards of being a fangirl is that most people get sick and tired of your ranting, squealing and just fangirling, in general. So this blog was born! I still fangirl in class but it’s less now since I’ve got you guys!

What’s the story behind your blog’s name?

I’m a really indecisive person so it took a while for me decide to stick to this name. I think that when I do get around to self-hosting, the name will change, again. When I first started Fangirl World, it was something but I just cannot remember. Fact about me, I forget, alot. Then it was “Let us Read”. I know, such a horrible name! But now, it’s Fangirl World, a bit unoriginal, I know but I’m on holidays so my brain isn’t exactly working on full speed.

How many designs have you been through since you started blogging?

I think about three. The first one was a really simple WordPress template. Then, I changed the template to what it is now but without the purple-ish background. Currently, it’s that template with the purple background.
I really want to self-host but I really don’t know how to start and what to do. I need help, people! I also need a good designer. Advise me in the comment box, please

Have you ever switched blog platforms? What made you move? If you haven’t ever changed…why?

Not for this blog. But when I was 13, I used blogger for my very first blog about social issues, bullying and that kind of stuff. I only ever posted once on it. So, that failed.
I’m planning to stick to WordPress when I self-host, though.

How long does it take you to write a post? What’s your postly process like?

A thing you should now about me is I procrastinate A LOT.
When I’m posting, I have about 4-6 other tabs on sites like Goodreads, other blogs, Gmail, Google search for gifs, etc. I also have Spotify on, at the same time. I will also maybe have a Youtube video on pause so that it buffers. So everything is kind of everywhere.
It takes me approximately half an hour for a review. A little bit shorter for discussions, tags and other stuff. I’m a perfectionist so it does take me a while for everything to look how I want it to look.

Have you ever been super nervous about a post? Why?! What was it?

Yes! It would have to be for my very first book review. I remember thinking: What if it’s bad? What is nobody reads it?
Another post I was terrified for was the Bookish Kris Kringle. That event kind of failed and I’m planning to cancel it since only one person signed up for it – thank you Marisa! But I’m waiting till the 12th Dec to decide anything since that’s the sign up cut off date.

Do you have a blogging schedule?

Nope.
But I need one.

Do you tell people In-Real-Life about your blog? Their reactions?

Haha, I love how In-Real-Life has caps. It’s like our lives are mainly on our blogs.
I’m only fifteen but my family knows and my friends know so they’ve been spreading the word and I am indebted with them for that. My mum is like, “my daughter has a blog!” Haha, I love you, Mama.
But I do like keeping it a secret. I like knowing that this is my own world where people are like me and they’re all so nice and supportive. I also find that people don’t fully understand this world. They think that blogging is easy, you just type something and click a button but it isn’t. It takes up so much time and dedication. It’s hard building up viewers and followers, frequently posting and getting to know other blogger. Getting to know other bloggers is the best bit, though. I cannot get over how nice they all are! In conclusion, blogging is hard!
Also, I am terrified of people in my class, copying. Is that weird?

  1. Aww, thanks for the shout out poppet. If you were still with blogger, I’d be happy to help with your design. I did mine myself, but haven’t the first clue about WordPress sadly. No one from my family actually reads my blog, even hubby. Being about books, and YA at that, it’s not really something that interests any of them. Which is good, then I can tell everyone how badly he snores and farts in his sleep and he’d be none the wiser 😀 Awesome post poppet, loved it! ❤

    1. Thanks! No problem!
I’m really unsure about self-hosting and whether to stick with wordpress or go with blogger. Cait @ Paper Fury just moved to wordpress and she seems to love it so i’m not sure…..
Haha, you husband’s like my dad. The first thing i hear in the morning is 3, loud, consecutive farts. That’s his morning routine.

  2. Oh the internet is the BEST place for flailing and fangirling and just having all round fun, right?!! 😉 And heehe, In Real Life isn’t in all caps for any particular reason. I mostly don’t even like that saying. THE INTERNET IS REAL LIFE, RIGHT?!! *flails wildly* I love it.
Being a fangirl does have so man occupational hazards. *sigh* We suffer so much and torment our emotions continually, right? WOULDN’T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY.
Thanks for spreading the word and doing my tag!!

    1. The internet IS the best!
My brothers call me “antisocial” cuz i’m on the laptop. It drives me crazy! And my brother thinks I have the emotional stability of a pea when it comes to books. He just doesn’t understand!
      No worries! Thanks so much!

  3. Thanks for the shout-out, lovely! I haven’t visited your blog often before, so I loved learning more about you and about your blog! It’s great that you friends and family are supportive of your blog, but the internet, as Cait said, really is the best place to go for all of your fangirling needs, haha. 🙂 My blog was designed by Hazel over at Stay Bookish (staybookish.net) She’s such a fantastic designer and has very reasonable prices. Thanks for sharing once again. ❤

  4. I love how the blog is a great place to fangirl – especially with people who are likely to share your feels about things as well. Sometimes the people around you in real life just don’t cut it! Also, I think it’s awesome that you multitask so much. I am very much like that too!
